Which gut cleansing program is particularly beneficial for skin conditions, and how should I eat if I suffer from skin problems and allergies? The GAPS diet is very well suited to promoting gut health and thus, in the long term, more beautiful skin.
The gut is not only located in the center of our body, but also at the heart of our health. Therefore, this important organ deserves our attention not only in cases of chronic inflammatory bowel diseases, intolerances, and allergies . Maintaining a healthy gut promotes overall well-being and thus natural beauty, because the intestinal lining is a crucial part of the immune system.
Our bodies are ingeniously designed: our self-healing powers are inherent, and we can foster them through a healthy lifestyle! Because humans are a unity of mind, soul, and body, nutrition and mental and physical health are closely intertwined. Allergies, intolerances, and autoimmune diseases are signs that something is amiss in the gut. Because the tissues of the skin and brain are evolutionarily closely related to the gut, unfavorable gut conditions often manifest as skin problems or neurological disorders.
Proper nutrition for allergies and skin problems
There are many ways to live and eat – some are completely contradictory and linked to different, conflicting worldviews! Finding the right path for yourself is not so easy.
A few examples: In the 5-element diet, which is based on Traditional Chinese Medicine , it is recommended to cook food for a long time to make it easier for the body to process it.
Proponents of raw food diets, on the other hand, advise the opposite.
Paleo dieters recommend meat and other animal products, while vegans reject them. The broad field of nutrition is ideologically contested, which is often confusing. Our tip: Try out the different dietary styles for yourself and you’ll quickly discover what works for you and what doesn’t.
The GAPS diet
GAPS stands for “Gut and Psychology/Physiology Syndrome.” The connection between gut health and mental and physical health was researched by Dr. Natasha Campbell McBride, who developed the GAPS diet. The GAPS diet is very effective in promoting gut health and, consequently, the immune system. Like any dietary change , the GAPS diet requires a certain degree of discipline, but it is possible for everyone and can be easily integrated into daily life with a few simple tricks.
The GAPS nutrition concept
The GAPS diet is a nutritional approach aimed at gut restoration. Unlike therapeutic fasting, however, the body is constantly supplied with all the nutrients it needs to function. Gut flora and gut health are continuously promoted, thereby improving both physical and mental well-being. Foods that are very starchy or rich in sugar are avoided, as are convenience foods and industrially processed foods. This allows the irritated intestinal lining to recover and the gut flora to return to balance. The main foods are easily digestible chicken soup and bone broth, vegetables, meat, fish, and eggs. Fermented foods (yogurt, kefir, sauerkraut) are also included. Initially, the diet is somewhat stricter, requiring only a few, very well-tolerated foods. However, you never have to go hungry; on the contrary, the body receives everything it needs, and you feel energized and simply great! The menu is gradually expanded.
Before changing your diet, a diagnosis from a specialist is essential. An elimination diet (omitting foods you don’t tolerate) can help with eczema and other conditions, but you shouldn’t leave anything to chance or experiment on yourself, especially if your health is already compromised. Tests by kinesiologists and energy healers are no substitute for a medical diagnosis! Once everything is medically clear, you can get started.

Tip: Omni Biotic 6

For a healthy gut flora: At the Allergosan Institute, we recommend OMNi-BiOTiC PANDA for children with atopic dermatitis during their first year of life, and later OMNi-BiOTiC 6 with its six active, key bacterial strains that colonize the entire gut. To combat inflammation, we recommend first and foremost an effective zinc product such as META-CARE® Zinc Plus , which also has a detoxifying effect.

Great recipe for chicken soup
Cook a large pot of soup (10 liters) with a whole chicken. The soup should simmer for a very long time, at least three hours. Do not skim off the fat; be sure to eat it, as it is like a healing balm for the intestinal lining. Important: Do not use bouillon cubes, only salt, pepper, herbs (lovage, parsley), and spices. This amount of soup will last one person a whole week.

Treat yourself to beauty!
Those who have changed their diet or want to do so don’t have to forgo (sweet) treats – quite the opposite. Cakes, muffins, and cookies made from healthy ingredients boost your zest for life and are good for your body, because true beauty comes from within! Those who don’t enjoy cooking, have little time, or simply need a healthy and tasty change of pace can opt for ready-made, high-quality products.
Chocolate lovers can rejoice: Organic raw chocolates may be more expensive, but they are so nutritious that you need less of them and are actually doing your body a favor. Raw cacao , which has not been defatted, is a very valuable and high-quality food and is considered a ” superfood .” Many of its valuable nutrients are stored in the fat, the cacao butter.
Cakes made with coconut or almond flour have a low glycemic index and are well suited for people who want to lose or maintain their weight and not put a strain on their body.

Sugar and other similar ingredients.
Chronic inflammation of the joints, skin, and digestive tract can be counteracted through proper nutrition. Everyone knows that sugar is unhealthy and should be avoided entirely if possible. The digestion of sugar, as well as other sweeteners, causes constant fluctuations in insulin levels, which overwhelms the pancreas over time. Our “diseases of civilization” are promoted by sugar consumption.
Honey is a healthy alternative to refined sugar . While honey does contain sugar, it is a fermented, natural product that also contains other substances beneficial to health. In naturopathy and across all cultures, honey has long been used successfully as a remedy, possessing, among other things, antibacterial and expectorant properties. But remember: moderation is key!
Nuts and dried fruit are a healthy alternative to chips and sweets. When it comes to nuts, it’s important to choose the best quality: they should be organically grown, raw, and fermented to make them easier to digest. Eating “real” food means you need less overall because your body gets everything it needs. Cravings become a thing of the past, and your whole body is strengthened. Our tip: Cut out the unnecessary and enjoy the things that are good for you: fresh, home-cooked meals instead of low-quality convenience foods, which are usually full of additives; high-quality, organic sweets instead of harmful processed foods. Your appetite will change as you adjust, and sugary “chemical bombs” will eventually lose their appeal altogether.
